Spring

Blossoming of plum-trees, seen everywhere, heralds the end of winter in Japan. As spring sets in, low and high atmospheric pressure systems move by turns from west to east. While enveloped with the high pressure one, weather is generally good with lots of sun and warmth in daytime, but cold at night. On the other hand, however, when visited by the low pressure mass, we have relatively lots of rainfall due to the moisture brought in from the Sea of Japan by the westerlies. This is the characteristic of springtime weather in and around Shimane faced on the Sea of Japan.
