Ajuga yezoensis
is a perennial herb of the height of 5-15cm inhabiting forests in
mountainous regions; leaves are of 3-4 pairs, opposite, each with a
1-2cm-long petiole, in the shape of a long oblanceolate, 2-6cm in
length, 1-3cm in width, with margins coarse and obtuse. The leaf
surfaces are partly purple along the veins, and the backsides are
purple throughout. Light purple, labiate flowers, several in number,
emerge at axils on upper parts; the corollas measure 1.1-1.3cm, tube
slender, cleft in five, upper lips two and lower lips 3. Bloom time:
April-May. |
