Rubus microphyllus is
a deciduous shrub, 50-100cm tall, found in forest edges or
wastelands in fields and mountains, with many small prickles on
stems and branches. Leaves are alternate, in the shape of a broad
ovate, and generally cut in three. Blades on stems with flowers are
small, 2-5cm long, but with non-flower branches, large, 6 -10cm
long. Leaf margins are serrated, and either side of the surface is
hairless. There are small prickles on veins and petioles. Flowers,
white, 2-2.5cm across, bloom facing upward. Fruit, about 1cm across,
spherical, matures red. Bloom time: April-May. |
