Rubus trifidus
is a deciduous shrub growing to 2-3m in
height, inhabiting seashores or the coasts in hilly districts; new
branches have vellus and glandular hairs at first but vanish
afterward. Leaves are alternate, broad ovate blades, 6-12cm in
length and width, palmately cut halfway in 3-7, heart-shaped bases,
tips pointed, margins double serrate. White, 3-4cm in diameter,
flowers set themselves facing upward. The fruit is approximately 1cm
in diameter and spherical, maturing to light yellow to
orange-yellow. Bloom time: April to May. |
