Persicaria thunbergii,
an annual herb with a height of 0.3-1m, grows in colonies in
damp-to-wet spaces, such as the edges of water, paths between rice
fields, and other similar areas. The stems have downward prickles,
and the lower parts of the plant creep along the ground. Leaves are
alternate, ovate to hastate, 4-10cm long, tips pointed, and bases
spread like an ear. Flowers, ranging from red-purple to white, bloom
in masses on branch tops. Bloom time: July-October. |
