Viola variegata var. nipponica,
with a
height of 5-10cm, is a perennial wild violet that occurs in light,
somewhat dry sites, such as deciduous forests; the whole plant has
short hairs. Leaves in bloom time measure 2-4cm, in the shape of an
oval to circle, heart-shaped at the base, and the backside is
purple. Flowers are white, 1.5-2cm in diameter; the side petals have
hairs at the lower portion; the spurs are slender and purplish. The
backside of the leaves and peduncles is also purple. Bloom time:
April-May. |
